Ella Willard

- Musician

Ella Willard’s colon has never really worked properly.

For years this meant pain and discomfort, hospital visits and operations. When she was 12 years old she had an ileostomy and fistula created to manage her bowel function. “When people first find out I have stoma they say it must be awful but it helps me live my life so much better.”

Ella is now 14 and in year 10 in high school. She lives just outside Manchester with her Mum, Dad, younger sister, their cat and dog. She plays the clarinet and loves to sing and act. Ella says she joined the Advocate team “because I love to talk about my stoma (is that weird?) and it sounded like a lot of fun” and that living with a stoma is “eventful!”
